Time to party!cozyconehotel

On Thursday, September 3 there is a Disneyland Half Marathon 10th anniversary party from 4pm to midnight. You can enjoy “Paint the Night” parade featuring Disney characters. If you purchase admission to the party, you can have access to exclusive after-hours access to attractions, Disney meet and greets and more. Since the half marathon isn’t until Sunday, you’ll have plenty of time to recover.

The night before

The night before the race, make sure you lay out all of your gear. Pin your race bib on your shirt, have your running nutrition ready and lay out your shirt, socks and shoes. Make it easy to grab your stuff and go in the morning. When you wake up at 3:30 in the morning, you’ll want to make sure you have your stuff ready in advance.

You will want to wake up at 3:30 a.m. to make sure you get to Disneyland in time for the race. The race starts at 5:30 a.m. and you will want to make sure you allow enough time to get to the park and walk to your corral.

You will be assigned a corral based on your anticipated completion time. Look out for your corral as you walk towards the start. The corrals are in alphabetical order, starting with “A” as the fastest group. You can go into a lower corral, but you can’t move up a corral.

There are a plethora of characters on the course in which to take pictures, such as Jafar, Evil Queen, Cruella DeVille and Storm Troopers! At mile 9 you run through Angel Stadium, which is super cool! People are in the bleachers cheering and you’ll feel like an elite athlete. Soak it all in!
