I’ve been experiencing pain in my left arch and heel after running lately and I believe it’s due to my shoes. I’ve used Asics Gel Nimbus for years, just buying the newer model as it is released. They’ve never given me problems before, in fact I’ve always preferred them because I’m a heel striker and Asics have thick gel padding. However, after I started running in the Asics Gel Nimbus 16 I experienced an injury that came immediately after the switch to the newer model. I figured it was time to try a new shoe so I headed to my local running company, Charlotte Running Company to get fitted.
I highly recommend visiting your local running store to get fitted and obtain their expertise. They can let you try on a variety of shoes and watch you run in them to see what works best for your foot. They also have expertise in running shoes and the best shoe to use for your gait and running style.
I had heard great reviews of Hoka’s, so I decided to try the Hoka Clifton 2. Check out my review to see if they are right for you!
