I blogged last week about our vacation to Gatlinburg and my hill repeat workout. I want to share the workout I completed on day two of the trip, which took advantage of the steps we had leading up to the cabin and the bands I brought along. If you are going away on vacation and you can’t (or don’t want to) bring weights, you can simply through some resistance bands in your bag. There are several varieties and you can buy them pretty cheap on Amazon. My favorite is the heavy band that has foam handles. I also like the circle band that you can loop around your legs, which are great for side lunges and kick backs. You can do this entire workout from your hotel room using just a resistance band and steps (or a chair).
I burned 514 calories (according to my Apple Watch) for this workout and it took approximately 60 minutes. I ran hill repeats in between sets, which took 5:30 for three hill repeats. You can do any cardio in between sets that takes between three to five minutes. Jumping jacks, running in place, mountain climbers and rear kicks are a few cardio sets that will get your heart pumping in the comfort of your room.
